Sausage Tomato “Angel Hair Pasta” (Keto, low carb, gluten free)

Hi everyone! If you have ever tried count calories or cut out carbs, you know that pasta is something you have to avoid.

I really enjoy using spaghetti squash for pasta options, but it takes a long time to roast. I recently discovered angel hair pasta made from hearts of palm from the brand “Natural Heaven.” The hearts of palm takes on whichever sauce option you apply to it (like tomato, Alfredo, pesto, garlic + olive oil, etc.). It has a realistic pasta texture and took me under 15 minutes to make this whole dish!

This Natural Heaven Ready Pasta Angel Hair style has only 25 calories, 2 grams of net carbs, and 0 grams of sugar per serving! (amazon link)

I decided to make this dish by browning Italian sausage, adding garlic, adding Rao’s vodka sauce, adding in the angel hair “pasta”, and topping it with parsley and fresh parmesan cheese.

Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon of avocado oil (or oil of your choice)
  • Ground Italian Sausage (I used 16oz but had some leftover for other dishes)
  • Natural Heaven Ready Pasta Angel Hair style (1 box)
  • Rao’s Homemade Vodka Sauce (1/2 container)
  • 1 tablespoon of minced garlic (or to taste)
  • Ground parsley/salt/pepper (to taste)
  • Parmesan cheese (to top)

Instructions:

  • Heat 1 tbsp of oil over medium heat in a sauce pan
  • Fully cook ground sausage, then remove from pan
  • Heat up sauce of your choice and add in the hearts of palm pasta
  • Cook over medium heat for 5 minutes, stirring frequently
  • Add back in sausage and cook for another 2 minutes
  • Add in salt and pepper to taste
  • Put “pasta” in individual bowls and top with fresh parmesan cheese and parsley
  • Enjoy!!

Roasted BBQ Pork Spare Ribs

Pork Spare Ribs with roasted sweet potatoes

Hi all,

Have you ever wanted a simple one dish main dish to enjoy on a cold fall evening (or honestly anytime at all)? If you are a fan of pork, you will love this main pork dish.

This is a roasted boneless pork spare rib combined with seasonings and brushed with your favorite bbq sauce – you cannot go wrong with this combination!

Ingredients:

  • Boneless pork spare ribs (I got these from Aldi)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 3 tsp of minced garlic
  • 1tsp of cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 tsp of red pepper flakes
  • 2 tsp of paprika
  • 2 tsp of brown sugar
  • 3 tbsp of olive oil (or oil of you choice)
  • BBQ sauce (homemade or store bought)
  • Parslely for topping

Instructions:

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees
  • Season pork with salt, pepper, brown sugar, cayenne pepper, paprika, garlic, and red pepper flakes
  • Heat olive oil up in cast iron pan over medium/high heat
  • Sear both sides of pork for 1-2 minutes
  • Brush generous amount of BBQ sauce on both sides of pork (and don’t forget sides)
  • Place in oven for 15 minutes
  • Take out of oven and rest pork for 5 minutes
  • Top with parsley
  • Enjoy! Best served with my roasted sweet potatoes
